Does it really matter if I’m a member or not? Why do I have to take a class to even become a member? Why do I have to sign anything? People often ask these questions about our membership process, skeptical as to why there seem to be so many “hoops” to jump through.
It’s true. We take membership seriously because we believe committing yourself to a body of believers is a big responsibility. But it’s also wonderful. When Covenant Members join, they commit to a spiritual family that provides encouragement and support. They are called to a biblical degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice to their brothers and sisters. Our elders and leaders also pledge to assist our covenant members with care, counsel, prayer and teaching.

As Christians, we are members of the body of Christ. A healthy body requires that each member does its part well. A healthy church requires the same: members who are sacrificially committed and well-equipped to do the works of service that God has prepared in advance for us to do. We are also being grafted into God’s household and are called to function as a holy priesthood. Forest Park Church holds its members in high regard; we expect them to be a generous servant living an intentional life. God, in His sovereignty, placed us in this community, among these people, at this time for a reason.

Membership class is offered on a quarterly or as needed basis, and is held right after worship service with lunch provided. During this time you will be exposed to our vision, mission, values and strategy. After the class you will be presented with a membership application form and a covenant to sign. We will explain the covenant and answer any questions you might have.

Baptism is a meaningful and public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It represents your identification with His death, burial, and resurrection, and marks the beginning of a transformed life in Him. More than a symbolic act, baptism is a step of obedience and a powerful testimony of the inward change that comes through salvation. It’s a moment for the Church to celebrate with you and walk alongside you in your journey of discipleship.
If you’ve decided to follow Jesus and haven’t yet been baptized, we invite you to be part of this life-changing experience.

Discipleship Training consists of developing men and women to become mature disciples in making disciples through various growth tracks. Each growth track will have specific training courses based on books of the bible, theology, and ministry applications. Each growth track will have specific training settings from the classroom to the cohort. We believe the future of theological education is in the church. You do not have to go outside the church to learn how to lead within the church. We believe it is the responsibility of the local church to train and equip the next generation of Christ-centered leaders. There are three growth tracks: (1) – Core Classes, (2) – Training Program, (3) – Residency Program.

Core Classes are an introductory discipleship pathway that helps believers take the next step in their spiritual growth. There are three areas of focus, the bible, theology, and spiritual formation. The goal is that after completing these core classes that believers would be more confident about their Christian faith, internalizing it and applying it to their everyday life.xt goes here

The training program is the next step up from core classes and desires to create disciples who do not just know theology, but who also lead within the life of the local church. There are three areas of focus: gospel, church, and discipleship. The goal is that after completing the training program, believers will have a better understanding of the gospel and its implications in the life of the church, be equipped to effectively make disciples, and lead within the church. The Church is not defined by a building but by its people, who remain the Church every day of the week. While gathering for worship is important, groups provide a vital opportunity for believers to meet in homes as the Church scatters, fostering authentic community and deepening discipleship. At Forest Park Church, groups are a safe space to explore the Gospel, connect with others, and pursue Jesus together. Through studying Scripture, prayer, and mutual encouragement, members grow in faith and challenge one another to live out the Gospel in everyday life. These groups reflect God’s communal nature through sacrificial love, consistency, worship, and transparency, embodying the call to “do life together.” They also empower missional living, equipping people to share the Gospel and make disciples in their neighborhoods and communities.
