Advent 2024: The Person of Christ

One of the most important questions that Jesus asked his disciples, “who do you say that I am?” In a culture of great confusion regarding the person of Christ, this advent season we want to take a closer look at Jesus Christ who was fully God and fully man in one person and will be so forever. Why it was necessary and what it means for us today. In our series we will marvel at the beauty, majesty and power of Christ, while at the same time come to Christ who meets us where we are in life, can understand and relate to us, provide for all our needs and give us life.

Genesis: A Story of Beginnings

Genesis functions as the introduction of God and His story that He is writing, and in that story, it addresses important questions: Where did we come from? What is our purpose? What is wrong with the world? Is there a solution to the problems we face? Where we go to find the answers and how we answer these questions matter, because it impacts how we view the world and how we live our lives. In this series we will not just discover the answer to these questions, but that we will discover the God of the Bible who is the answer to these questions.

Stand-Alone Messages

Stand alone messages from pastors, elders, guest speakers, and missionaries.

Advent 2023: Micah - Rise of the King

When we look at the world around us, it is filled with cruelty, violence, corruption, oppression, and injustice. Sin has infiltrated every segment of society. Yet in the midst of complete darkness there is hope. In our series through the book of Micah, we will discover that even though the kingdom has fallen, God promises a coming kingdom and a coming King that will appear, and righteousness will prevail.

2 Timothy: Do not be Ashamed of the Gospel

It is often said that we are one generation away from losing the gospel. If the gospel is assumed in one generation, it will be neglected, ignored and or abandoned in the next. We must keep guarding, suffering for, continuing in, and proclaiming the gospel. In this series we will discover what the gospel is, the importance of the gospel and how it gives us hope in the present and future.

1 Corinthians: We are the Church

The prevailing worldview in our culture influences how we live, think and value. This was true for the church in Corinth, that even though they became Christian they were still to some degree embracing Corinth’s worldly values. Paul wrote a letter addressing some of their questions by exhorting them to live as who they truly are, God’s holy people. In this series we will discover that the gospel requires God’s holy people to mature in purity and unity. It solves every issue because the gospel is decisive for every issue regarding how Christians should live.

Daniel

Kings and kingdoms will come and go, but God will establish an everlasting Kingdom. Nowhere is this theme more apparent than in the book of Daniel. Through the decades of exile, Daniel remained faithful to the Lord despite external opposition and threat of death. In the book of Daniel, we will be encouraged to trust in God’s providence and remain faithful no matter what happens since our Lord is in complete control.

Advent 2022

When we look at the world around us, we are constantly reminded of the broken and sinful state we live in. As a result, we chase after such things as hope, peace, joy, and love, even amplifying our pursuit of them during the holiday season. No matter how hard we try to attain them, they always seem just out of reach. This Advent season, we are reminded that while the pursuit of these qualities is good, they can only be fulfilled in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul even reminds us in Colossians 2:17 that, “These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.”

The Gospel of John

John gives us his own purpose statement in John 20:31: “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” The fundamental question that John addresses is not “Who is Jesus?” but “Who is the Messiah? Who is the Christ? Who is the Son of God?” It is a question of identity. John is going to show us that He is Jesus so that we may believe and have life in his name.

Advent 2021

During the advent season we are normally very busy that we do not slow down to think about the hope that we have in Christ. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 to, “revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” In our series we are going to talk about the reason for the hope that we do have in Christ.

Nahum.jpg

Nahum

Nahum is primarily a book of hope and comfort to those who are being or have been victimized and oppressed. But it is also a word of warning to the oppressors and those associated with the oppressors. As we walk through the book of Nahum, may we find comfort, knowing that evil will not prevail, but that God will make all the wrong in the world right. As we read about the devastation of God’s judgment, it will compels us to throw ourselves on God’s mercy as we look to Christ.

Acts.jpg

Acts

The history recorded in the book of acts covers a relatively short period of time. So much happened in thirty short years. Which begs the question, what may God do through a local group of believers throughout the same period of time? In our study of the book of Acts, may the Holy Spirit deepen our love for Jesus as we seek to continue the message, the ministry and the witness of Jesus Christ.

Lamentations.png

Lamentations

The Book of Lamentations is a book of five poems, reflecting on the brutal siege and destruction of Jerusalem and the exile of the survivors to Babylon. The book does not try to explain suffering, justify it, or even condemn it. Rather its only purpose is to express suffering and express it before God, even as Israel could hear no response from God amidst the ruins. As we walk through the book of Lamentations may we find both a full expression of lament and a hunger for healing that is only provided in Jesus Christ.

Sermon on the Mount.jpg

Sermon on the Mount

Since we are citizens of God’s kingdom, having been redeemed by Christ and brought into this kingdom, we ought to live a certain kind of way among the nations. In the Sermon on the Mount, we learn how to live in His kingdom. As we walk through the Sermon on the Mount may we not be crushed in despair, but may we delight and take great joy in this high and holy calling from our King!

Practicing Presence.jpg

Practicing Presence

The presence of God is not something we need to obtain or achieve, but rather it is freely given to us and we need to steward and practice the presence of God. In this series we will learn to practice the presence of God.

Romans (2).png

Romans

The Gospel is more than just about a personal relationship with God. It is also about God’s redemptive plan to renew all things. The Christian needs to understand the power of the gospel: it can both justify and transform the sinner, it can bring together all people into one people of God.

The Apostles' Creed.jpg

The Apostles’ Creed

The Apostles’ Creed finds its beginning in the apostles’ teachings and contains essential Christian doctrines and beliefs that summarize the gospel and make up the foundation of our faith. The scriptural truths contained in the creed help us to operate out of good theology, with the knowledge that our faith is rooted in truth and a rich history that spans past and present. The lines of the creed aren’t mere words. They are the essence of what we confess and believe.

Exodus.jpg

Exodus

From darkness to light, this is the story we all share as the people of God. He draws us out to draw us in. From the birth of Israel to the church today, God delivers and dwells with His people. In this series through the book of Exodus we will see how God always keeps His promises and always accomplishes His plan.

Blueprint: God's Design For The Church

We know that we do not just go to church, but we are the church. How do we live our lives in such a way where we encourage one another as we do life together, where we come to gather and make much of Jesus and as we spread out to serve our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In this series through the book of 1 Timothy we will ask and answer the question: How can we effectively be the church?
